Travel Health

As of July 2019 we are no longer able to offer a travel health service. Patients should visit to check which travel vaccinations are required for your travel destination. If vaccines are required we are able to provide the following travel vaccinations free of charge under our contract with the NHS:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid
  • Tetanus booster
  • Cholera (rarely needed unless working with disaster aid relief)

All other vaccinations and/or anti-malarial tablets are not provided free to patients under the NHS and patients are required to contact a private travel clinic. A list of local private travel clinics can be found below:

If you require information on which vaccinations you have had in the past please contact the surgery to obtain a print out of your vaccination record (free of charge)

Travelling in Europe

If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.

Travelling with Prescribed Medication

Please take printed a copy of your repeat prescription in your hand luggage. Our reception staff can print a repeat copy if you require.

Please check there are no restrictions on carrying certain types of medications (e.g. controlled drugs ) in place in any countries you are visiting or transiting through.

Please ensure you have ordered enough of your usual medications to cover the duration of your trip and in plenty of time (at least 48h prior to travel). Your GP surgery can only issue you with 3 months supply of any repeat medications under the NHS. Any further supplies must be obtained from a healthcare professional at your destination.
